Research is your first step, and it should be hardcore.  Make sure you check out different salons in your area, to see which ones have SPMU technicians.  Pick the salon that gives you the best vibes.  Of course, then you need to personally speak to the technicians.  Get their references, personal and professional.  If a technician is unwilling to give you any references, move on.  It is also a good idea to talk to previous customers and clients, to see how they felt about the technician.  You also want a chance to see the artist’s work, both in person and in pictures.

It never hurts to make sure that any given SPMU technician hasn’t had any complaints lodged, so check with the Better Business Bureau.  Perhaps most importantly, ultimately make sure you choose a technician who has a decent amount of experience.  You don’t want to go with someone who has just gotten going on his or her career.  After all, this is your face we’re talking about!
